Ask to buy notifications not sent to parent

My wife and I are both listed as parents for our kids who have ask to buy turned on. When they click an app to download the requests don’t come to either of our phones (no notifications, not there if we check messages or App Store). There aren’t any error messages on the kids devices either.

any ideas on what to try?

There is a Support Article if you are not getting the Notification.

If Ask to Buy isn't working - Apple Support

It shows these 4 things to try:

  1. Make sure that both you and your child have updated to the latest iOS or iPadOS on your iPhone or iPad, and the latest macOS on your Mac.
  2. If you turned on Focus on your device, either turn it off so that you can receive notifications, or check your Focus settings to make sure that you can receive Time Sensitive notifications like Ask to Buy requests.
  3. Try changing the name of your device, and check that you and your child's devices have different names. To see and change the name of a device, go to Settings > General > About > Name.
  4. Confirm that your child's contact card is correctly filled out on their device, including their full name and Apple ID email address or phone number, so Ask to Buy notifications are sent and received through Messages.

Is the Organizer getting the request? If so, make sure you have been correctly set up as a Parent/Guardian.
