iPhone gyroscope not working

My gyro feature on iPhone 13 stopped working after updating to 17.5.1 I didn't notice immediately but I have done a few steps as outlined by several members and others such as restart and reset, in order to resolve and nothing has worked so far.

I decided to bring the phone to default "out the box" state and did a manual configuration without using my backup to restore it. In this state, with a basic generic config, the gyro function works fine. Upon a restart and restore of my backup, the issue of no gyro returned. There is no obvious issue otherwise with the phone so it feels like a conflict with an app or corruption of the database somehow.

My questions are:

Is there some new feature of 17.5.1 that could be at play here ?

Is there some kind of debugging program that could be used on the phone to see if there's some sort of malware causing this issue ?

Are there any suggestions as to where to next ?
