Whether you are a kid or not, the message you got is a scam!

In order to frighten you into becoming their prey, the criminals who sent this message have combined pieces of two common types of scams:

  • Tech support scams that claim that your device has a security problem, and try to get you to contact "tech support" (criminals waiting to fleece you), download some app, or both. This one applies the pressure in a particularly nasty fashion by claiming that your device is not only infected, but about to be damaged.
  • Sextortion scams that claim you've been caught doing some shameful activity (i.e. that you supposedly got these two "viruses" by visiting adult Web sites).

Contacting the criminals for "help" (emptying your bank account), or putting any app that they recommend onto your phone or computer, is the last thing that you want to do. Don't bite. Don't be a "phish."
