Downloading Notes from iCloud onto Windows PC

I'm trying to access some Notes scanned documents on my Windows PC (Windows 11).

When I download them from iCloud, they save as garbled text documents, and not as pictures of the scanned documents.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
