Moving iTunes library to music app on new Mac

What is the best way to transfer my entire iTunes library to the Music folder on my new MB Pro running Sonoma? I copied the contents of the entire iTunes folder from my old pc onto an external drive but there are several folders and files there. Not sure which files and/or folders to drag into Music.

How can I transfer my iTunes library to Apple Music? My 2008 Mac Pro recently died. I was hanging on to it as I could still run many 32 bit apps, it recognized my old iPod Touch that I used to play my favorite playlists and all the other music I wanted to listen to was stored in iTunes. I'm sure I can't be the only person who has no desire to pay for Apple Music, but yet still needs the functions of plain ol' iTunes. Has anyone done this easily and successfully? Copy my music library from one Mac to the other Hello community! I want have my Music on a second Mac (Monterey) just like I have it on the first Mac (also Monterey). During "iTunes" times, I simply copied the folder iTunes from one to the other Mac and I was done. How can I do that with this App "Music"? I tried to copy the folder ./Music/iTunes and ./Music/Music from one to the other Mac but this didnt work - eventhough the directories and files made it well, the application Music did only show about 4000 songs from 14000 which are included in my library. Due to the confusing naming of files, directories and the App (all Music!!) it is very hard to search for help. So I am hoping on help this way ... Thx!

Transferring iTunes library from external hard drive to iMac I am switching computers from a PC to a IMac desktop computer. I have a large music file (~150,000 cuts) that I store on a separate hard drive (not main C drive). I have copied my files (including all my music and itunes library) to an external hard drive that I will plug into the new IMac. I want to transfer the itunes library and music from this new hard drive onto the IMac hoping that when I do I can load into itunes and it will find and configure my playlists and files as they they were on the PC. Any recommendations on how to make sure all this happens seamlessly. My concern is that itunes library will be looking for my music on a the hard drive I used in the PC and not pick them up from the new external hard drive I moved them to and connected to my IMac. See Move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Community and Managing your Mac media libraries - Apple Community. In brief, you should hold down option when launching Music and use the choose library button to select your old .itl file. The two user tips give additional advice and explain which bits of your old library are no longer needed, or might need adding separately to other apps.
