How is it that, when launching the epic games launcher, my brand new iMac M3 is starting to get hot? The fan is of course then, starting to run as well. This happens when I'm even not yet playing the game in question (Football Manager 2024) through Epic Games.
I only open epic games and for instance launching the Unreal Engine.
I'm even considering deleting Epic Games and trying to play the game with Steam.
What should I do?

Yes, those types of apps I listed previously all interfere with the normal operation of macOS at very low levels within the OS. Anything that ties into the lower levels of an OS should be avoided because the slightest glitch will cause all sorts of problems within the OS. If Epic doesn't believe there is any problem with their launcher on macOS, then it stands to reason something with your macOS setup & configuration is causing the problem....that means most likely some other third party software you have installed on it.
If the real-time scanner is turned off.....maybe it will resolve the Epic Launcher issue, but like @PRP_53 mentions, there are still portions of the app which are still running. But why use an AV product when it is completely unnecessary? Even on Windows where a virus is a real concern, I no longer recommend using any third party AV product these days since the built-in option works well enough & does not cause any issues.
macOS already provides great built-in security as long as the user also practices safe computing habits as outlined in the excellent article @PRP_53 linked previously which is written by another respected forum contributor. If you practice all those things, then the risk of something nefarious happening is extremely low. Here is the link once again:

Are you running any anti-virus software, cleaning/optimizer apps, or third party security software? If so, then uninstall them by following the developer's instructions since these types of apps are not needed on a Mac and usually causes more problems than they solve because they interfere with the normal operation of macOS.
Feel free to run the third party app EtreCheck and post the complete report here so we can examine it for possible clues.
Otherwise, if you don't have any of these types of apps installed, then contact Epic support and check the Epic forums to see whether other Mac users are encountering this problem.

Technically , probably as it maybe scanning every single file that is changing since the last time it scanned every single file.
Always looking for some ( Virus ) that does not exist on macOS
Technically, as none of us have physical / on-hands to this machine and working from around the world
As the machine is getting Hot with this AV Software installed
You could Test if the same occurs once the AV Software is completely Removed as per Developers Instructions
The come back with the results
Just to be sure ALL the Elements of this AV Software has been removed Totally.

I was actually contacting Epic Games support and they said that I should go here, to Apple Support.
And as a matter of fact, yes, I'm running F-Secure anti-virus software. Should be one of the most trusted software that there is.

There are no known Windows-like Viruses in the wild that self replicate and affect macOS, because of the underling UNIX Foundation and Permission Limitation.
The Operating System resides in a Sealed and Read Only Volume that cannot be opened by the User nor by Third Party Applications.
The only Entity that can open and modify or alter this Volume is Apple.
That would occur when an update or UpGrade is performed.
The Only thing this Antivirus software is protecting is the Bank Account of the Developers and for zero return to the User aside from the problems this software creates.
AntiVirus Developers purposefully Market their product to create a “ Fear Factor “. In so doing, creating a False Need for their Product.

Closed or not, the AV Software is still running behind the scenes
The user asked for specific ways to possibly solve this " Running Hot " issue
It now falls the the owner of this computer to either take the advice or not.
