Section breaks misalign the last line of the previous page

Hi, I am trying to format a book in pages and I want to remove the page numbers on the first page of each new chapter. But whenever I insert a section break in order to do that, the last line at the end of the page jumps back and is then misaligned. Can someone tell me why that happens and how to avoid it?
