My Apple Watch podcast app is not syncing with my iPhone podcast app

Hi,

My Apple Watch Series 6+Cellular podcast app does not sync with my iPhone 15 Pro podcast app. Only one o two of the shows I follow appear in the watch app. I have tried several fixes I have found here and on other websites including deleting the podcast apps from both devices and reinstalling them after shutting down and rebooting both devices. That did not work so I completely erased my Watch and reinitialized it as new device; I did not use a backup. And after all that the apps still aren't syncing. Any suggestions?

Apple iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 17.5.1

Apple Watch Series 6+Cellular running WatchOS 10.5
