Apple Pay concern

I was wondering if anyone could clarify a concern I have. I’ve recently had multiple attempts to be scammed. It started when I got a one day subscription that to a site that I used Apple Pay to pay for it, and it had to be cancelled or they’d charge for a month. I did cancel, but they signed me up to a partner site without my knowledge. I then cancelled that, but it’s happened again and again, so it’s definitely a scam.

my question is, if I delete the card I used for the initial subscription off of my Apple Pay, will they attempt to take it from another card? Or will that stop them in their tracks?

So, this is a debit or credit card?

If Apple Pay is used the merchant would only have encrypted information. The first site, do you remember adding your card information on the website?

Are you sure all the sites are connected?

Apple Pay has never been hacked. All the data transmitted and stored is encrypted and is only decoded when the bank decrypts the data for verification and approval or denial of transaction. The merchant only has the last 4 digits of Digital Primary Account Number and only your personal information required to fulfill the order and any information you provide in the online order/account.

Lastly, the merchant receives a token good for one transaction approval. If the token is used again the token yields a transaction decline.

It really sounds like your account information is compromised.

Banks issue device tokens. The bank should know how many devices they’ve authorized to your account. They should also know if the transactions are card present or card not present transactions. How are your fraudulent transactions appearing, card present or card not present?

Then the possibility is an automatic subscription update feature that MasterCard and Visa offer. Here is an example.

Merchants opt in and are charged a fee. When cards are updated the merchant is advised of the update and the >subscriptions< continues.

That’s the thing, I’ve already got a new card but they still attempted to take it out of my bank. I’ve left it empty so it just declines. I’ve called them multiple times to cancel, which they do, but then I get another attempted charge from a different site, it’s like they’re using my information to create new accounts on new sites. I’m an idiot, I think my next step is to just close my account, but I’m concerned that it’s Apple Pay that they have access to, so regardless of what card I have on my Apple Pay they’ll be able to get money

It’s a debit card linked to Apple Pay. Every time they attempt to take the money, it declines because I don’t have enough to cover it.

I paid a day subscription, using Apple Pay. I didn’t fill in my bank details, just used Apple Pay.

what’s happening is the declined payment always has the same website, but I get emails from different sites saying my payment was declined.

I cancel with the new one, then they move me to a different website, rinse and repeat
