Just bought my first MacBook and I'm about to set it up, and I want to know what kind of security software I should install, if any. I always use a VPN on all my Apple devices, but I've never used any anti virus programs on my iphone or ipad. What advice do the experts have for a MacBook?

Do not install third party apps that claim to protect, boost performance, clean, etc. Such third party apps use system resources while providing no benefit. And they may cause problems.
