Issues updating apps in App Store

For about the last 2 weeks, when I go to download app updates in the App Store, the number of apps to be updated will stay at the initial number of available updates for a few minutes, and then the App Store app will close/crash and I am back at the main screen. This happens both on my iPad Pro 12” (latest model) and my iPhone 15 Pro Max. It seems the apps are slowly downloading and installing, because when I open the App Store app again, the number of downloads has decreased. But it is sometimes taking 4 or 5 crashes to get all of the app updates installed. It didn’t used to be like this.

Is anyone else having this issue or aware of how to correct it?
