New emails sometimes not loading in Mac Mail Sonoma

I'm having issues with mail loading inconsistently in Apple Mail ever since upgrading to Sonoma. I've talked to several people experiencing the same thing.

Some days emails load fine. Other days it can be several minutes up to an hour where many emails do not load. What's more frustrating is 2 or 3 recent emails will show up, but 20-30 others will not, but eventually will show up.

We use Google Workspace for our email provider. Logging into the gmail browser shows those emails. Even clicking the get new messages in all accounts button does not solve the issue.

I have even set up a brand new computer from scratch (no migration used), and the email issue is still apparent.
