When making a purchase with the Apple credit card (not cash card) my balance is completely visible. Is there a way to conceal the balance when I make purchases so others can’t see what I owe on my card
its very disconcerting to have others be able to view what my balance is !
Don't open the Wallet app directly to make purchases, "double-click" the side button to bring up payment cards to pay for purchases, no balance will be displayed. I've been doing it this way ever since the Apple Card credit card was introduced.

Your balance is only displayed if you open the wallet app and then select the card. If you enable the card as your default, it will appear automatically when presented to a reader; no balance is displayed. Of course, it's your card on your device. For all intents and purposes, one would have to readily want to look, know when to look, and actively be very close to you to see your balance.
