No singer / vocals on CarPlay

Very strange and specific issue coming up ❤️

on CarPlay and only on CarPlay

the song “Oh No!” By the Decemberists (not the Lavender Diamond cover, the new release from “As it ever was so it will be again”) plays no vocals. Just instruments. Using Apple Music on iOS 17.5.1 (latest) on iPhone 14 Pro.

I thought the song was instrumental until I heard it at home.

any ideas? All other songs play perfect. On other devices that specific song sounds perfect. Just not on CarPlay

Thanks. I can confirm the same: when boardcasting via Bluetooth vocals aren’t heard

unless going into karaoke mode and tuning vocals up.

I just noticed this yesterday. It plays fine on my iPhone and if iPhone>CarPlay it is fine. It is downloaded on this device. But when I stream it to my iPad there are no vocals. But get this...if I turn on karaoke mode on my iPad I can adjust the vocals up and they are there as long as karaoke mode is enacted. Turn it off and they go away.

Googling around, seems it isn't just on AppleMusic. Seen references to Spotify and downloads as well. Not sure if everyone or just some people. Some have said they were there for a few days then gone. Some have reported they've been corrected it but others not. Hopefully this gets worked out on AM.

I downgraded from iPhone 14 Pro to iPhone 11 Pro & the issue is gone.

The solution seems to be in 2019 ;) Or the restore did it

Having this problem on the same song, but a different device: Mac OS 14.5, Apple Music 1.4.5.36. Like you, it works normally on the other songs on the album, and works normally on my iPhone and iPad.
