Is there a way to turn off the music app on apple watch series 9? I don't use that feature, and it drains my battery after 9-10 hours on the road listening to music on my iPhone.

The Music app on the Apple Watch can not be deleted, but you can turn off adding music automatically and "Recent Music" in the settings for Music in the WatchApp on your iPhone.

Did you make sure, that on your Apple Watch go to Settings/General/Autostart/ and make sure that "Auto-Launch Audio Apps" is disabled?
And also check the widgets and the double tap menu.
But even then the little music icon comes back from time to time on my Ultra 2.
Open your apps on the watch.
In Grid View tap on the app until they jiggle, then tap on the little cross to delete it.
In List View, scroll down to "Now Playing" and swipe to the left, then tap on the white cross.

I turned off auto launch, deleted the app, then performed a reboot. The now playing screen does not appear now, but a small "music" icon is still present at top center of the face. If I touch this icon, now playing comes back even though it has been deleted, LOL!
Maybe this will reduce my battery usage, only time will tell. Thank you for the tips.

As for me, when I lift my wrist, it is NEVER to see what music I have been listening to. It is for things like seeing what’s upcoming on my schedule, checking the time or looking at the weather. But, no, it just wants to tell me about music! 😩
Thanks, but music storage isn't the issue, nor is deleting the app. I want to turn the app off when I don't want it running. I don't need it to run when I'm in my car using CarPlay.
Switching the settings for Music in the WatchApp is the only thing I found, to stop the watch from connecting to the Music App on the iPhone and saving battery life.
