iphone prep for new battery

my phone is always backed up in the cloud. im getting a new battery at the Apple Store and Apple says no need to erase/reset my phone if im personally delivering to an Apple store for service. Is that right? is my data safe?

Your data is still locked behind the passcode, so it is safe. Having a back up is always a good idea in case something goes wrong. I took my phone to the Apple Store for battery replacement and simply handed them my phone. You do not need to tell them your Passcode or Apple ID Password. After about an hour, I picked up the phone and it worked perfectly. Everything was exactly how it was before, except the battery health now showed 100%.
