Why is my iPhone system storage fluctuating so much?

I have a iPhone 13, one day the system data was at like 40 - 45 gb, i restarted my phone it went to 20 - 25, then later it went back to 40 - 45, and now it’s at 9.37 gb. What is happening please someone explain this. I didn’t take a screenshot but once it happens again i will.

This is normal to a degree: iOS manages the system data to improve the performance of your iPhone, by creating cache files. These files are deleted when no longer needed.

This being said, I've never seen the system data storage varying so much, so fast. It may be due to the applications you recently used but I can't be certain.
