Brightness Control Keys don't work

Hi. My F1/F2 keys are not working, the display regulator on system preferences isn't working, the Control and Shift buttons do not work either, I tried everything on Youtube. Anyone have any idea what might be going on? The brightness is killing my eyes.

Some keys on some Apple keyboards have special symbols and functions, such as for display brightness, keyboard brightness, and more. If these functions aren't available on your keyboard, you might be able to reproduce some of them by creating your own keyboard shortcuts. To use these keys as F1, F2, F3, or other standard function keys, combine them with the Fn key.

Three things and in no special order

What does the user ( you ) expect will occur when Shift Command keys are pressed simultaneously ?

Exactly would has changed, on this computer, between the time when ALL Keyboard functions worked and when they ceased to work ?

Is the computer connected to an External Display and if so, How ?

I saw on a YT video that pressing Option+Shift would prompt the regulation for screen brightness in case the keys F1/F2 are not working.

I don't think anything has changed. The issue just happened, I just did not use the computer for a week because I was on vacations. I don't think that might be the cause? I also downloaded Ms Teams for a new job I just started.

And yes, it is connected to a second monitor for work purposes but I have worked with it like forever and this never happened.
