How to get Google maps to access iOS calendar and address book data

While I love Apple Maps, outside the us and the uk, the data in the app is just not up to date. I used to use Waze which somehow could look into my iOS calendar and see where and when my next commitment was and alert me in time to leave and then automatically fill in the destination field. Sadly, google has stopped development on Waze so I would like to use google maps but the latter does not seem to get adress data neither from Apple calendar or even from my iOS address book. Can anyone help me make the connection between Apple calendar and address book and google map beyond cut and paste?
