Does anyone else still hate face ID?

My IPhone 14 is next to me on the desk. I want to wake it up (the screen went dim). I touch the screen. ... since the phone is on the desk and I am at an angle, with some separation, it says Face ID, requiring me to pick up the phone and point at me) then after a bit, opens the passcode entry window. To avoid this I need to pick up the phone so it sees my face. With my IPhone 7 I just put my thumbprint on it and was in business. A real nuisance as the screen dims fairly often (a good thing, normally).

Someone wished Apple would include both. Great idea.
