I Phone X, just freaks out, gets very hot, opens apps by itself, and objects on the screen jump and move around at will. It will also go into the mode that allows you to delete apps all on it's own....

Sounds like your digitizer is failing. The digitizer is responsible for touch events and built into the screen, so a screen replacement will solve the problem of "ghost touches". This occurs more frequently when your screen is cracked, but can occur anytime the digitizer fails.
