iPad Pro EPUB books disappeared

This morning, when opening the Books app, a warning popped up and said that my epub books were not formatted correctly. Now, all of my epub books have disappeared. Does anybody have an idea what happened? I read tons of epub books and had several thousand in my library, and they are all gone. There are many that are irreplaceable because the origin site is no longer available. Please help!

Unable to delete EPub books. I have downloaded books and newspapers etc to read on EPUB reader. Now it’s crashing every time I select and delete a download. Tried to contact their support but it bounces. Please either update their app or delete if from the App Store. Is there any other way to delete files of the iPad, say via iTunes?

Books app won't open or delete documents on iPad iPad (7th generation) with a number of mostly PDF documents. Updated to iOS 18. Within the past two weeks Books has stopped opening documents. Tapping on a document icon no longer opens the doc.he app opens without a problem. Same documents still open in Books on other devices tied to my iCloud account. Tried a restart. Tried to delete individual downloads from the iPad, as well as all downloads. Books will not delete the downloads or open the docs.
