Should fitness app on iPhone record activity if you don’t wear paired iwatch
Just changed phone and watch to latest as Apple help said this issue was down to outdated watch - should the iPhone record activity if I’m not wearing the paired watch ?

Without wearing your Apple watch during fitness activities, iPhone can't track a lot, but you can go into the fitness app on your iPhone and enter workout data. To my knowledge, the phone itself can track the following without wearing your watch; Steps - Distance - Calories Burned. Most other things you'll have to add manually.
I do not have an Apple watch and Fitness does record a few of the activities.
