Random dropping of wifi and bluetooth

I have a brand new mac mini (purchased 2 months ago). From day one the wifi connection has been unstable. None of my other devices (laptop, fire tv) in the same location have this issue. I decided to run ethernet across my house to limit the issue, however the bluetooth also drops.

All of the help articles I have read ask us as the consumer to check for interference. Just to clarify, My mac mini sits on my wood desk with nothing on it. My Dell laptop has no connectivity issues, bluetooth or wifi, when used in the same place.

On occation, everything stops working, including the things connected to the USB ports. Like a reset, everything turns off and my monitor goes black. Then I have to scramble to reconnect everything. This is a huge interupption during my online classes that I teach.

Is this a software or a hardware issue? Should I take it into an Apple store?

Thanks everyone. I do already have it on its side in a stand designed to hold it that way. I decided to make the change a few days ago. The wifi seems to have improved, but the bluetooth is still an issue. We will see after next week when I have back to back classes online.

I might add I find it absurd this thing won't work as it is designed to sit. I've been on Apple computer since 1984. I'm having a hard time staying dedicated to the brand.
