Old iPad, defunct AppleID
Found my old first gen iPad, but the AppleID used at that time is no longer around. How can I reset the iPad to my current Apple ID?

What do you mean by the Apple ID is no longer around. You can still reset the password for the Apple ID even if you no longer have access to the email address of the Apple ID. Use Account Recovery to gain access to your old account, then you will be able to sign out and reset the device to put in your new Apple ID.
