Video has No Sound

I have one video that does not have any sound at all, and I don’t know why. What could’ve caused this, how can I prevent it from happening again, and is there a way to recover the audio?

I recorded it on the normal built in camera app, and it was from a concert so I have many other videos from both before AND after the silent video that all have audio. The video I took 1 minute prior to the silent one has audio, and the video I took 2 minutes after it has audio as well. It’s just one single video that has no audio at all, so this was an isolated incident

  1. Check the video: Open the video and make sure the volume isn't muted within the video player itself. There might be a mute button or speaker icon with a slash through it.
  2. Restart your iPhone: A simple restart can often clear up minor glitches. Hold the side button and either volume button until you see the Apple logo, then power your phone back on.
  3. Update iOS: Make sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Bugs are sometimes patched in updates,so this could resolve the issue. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
