How can I see the tracks in my playlist . When I import to iTunes it deletes the tracks..

I exported my playlist to clean up my drive and deleted a bunch of tracks .. but I wanted to get a list of the song in a playlist when I try to get them into iTunes.. it says they were delete since they are not where they were before.. What options do I need to activate in iTunes so it doesn't do that going forward? I have been searching and the answers seem to be its not doable?

What is the design purpose of the deletion from apples GUI perspective?

I don't mind with it saying the track is deleted?
