Find My iPhone

So, I opened Find My to see a friend somewhere hours away.

Asked them what they’re up to all the way out there? They told me that they’re somewhere else & not what was displayed on my phone (2 hrs away).

I closed the app, opened it and then it showed that they’re at the location that they said they’re at.

When I opened Find My app again, for a brief moment, it displayed the first location, then within seconds displayed the “current” location.

This happens with one contact and multiple times.

What does this mean?
