Hotspot connection issues

My Macbook won’t connect to my iPhones hotspot. My phone says it’s connected but my mac has an exclamation mark over de wifi icon. Other devices have no issues. I tried restarting, forgetting the network and reconnecting, and setting a new location.

I’ve seen a trick where people go into their advanced wifi settings and remove the network from ‘known networks’, but my hotspot does not show there. Is there any other way in which I can fix this?
