Does iPad Mini 2 support Apple's 70W Charger?

Hi, can I use Apple’s 70W charger to charge my iPad Mini 2 without any issues? I've been using the 12W USB-A charger but want to switch to USB-C. I don’t need fast charging, just the convenience of one charger for my 15” MacBook Air (M3), iPhone SE (2nd gen), and iPad Mini 2. I’ll carry two cables: a 60W USB-C to USB-C and a USB-C to Lightning, but only one charger.

While you can use a Power Adapter with a higher power rating without issue, your iPad mini2 will not charge any faster than when using a 12W Power Adapter.

Your iPad mini2 does not support fast charging from a USB PD (Power Delivery) - or fast charging. The mini2 will limit charging to 2.4A @5V (i.e., 12W).

When connected to a USB-C Power Adapter using a USB-C to Lightning cable, the iPad will still charge at its maximum supported rate - this being 2.4A @5V (12W).

A healthy Power Adapter will cause no harm to your iPad. However, if the Power Adapter were to develop a fault, it has the capacity to create considerably more damage than a lower-output Power Adapter.
