Playing WMA files on a Mac
My Olympus digital voice recorder advertises that it's Mac compatible. It's not. Files are all WMA and won't play through Quicktime. Is there a fix? There always is but what?

In the old days (2004–2015) of QuickTime 6–7, there was a third party plugin (“component”) called ‘Flip4Mac’ for WMA and WMV. Flip4Mac was sold a couple of times, new owners decided to go commercial only, effectively removing WMA and WMV for hobbyist users for QuickTime Player. In 2024, the is no market for 32-bit QT components at all. WMA is dead format now (and WMV too), even on Windows.
You will have to look at conversions (third party apps) or third party player software.
