Keyword manager not available on imported photos

I have some family pictures taken by my son. Keyword manager is not available for these. Is there anyway to apply keywords to them?

iMac 24″, macOS 14.5

Using Keyword Manager in Photos I'm starting to use the Keyword Manager in Photos more, and I see I have many hundreds of keywords that shouldn't be there and somehow were entered in error or accidentally. Is there a way I can use that Keyword Manager to show me all photos that have that keyword? Unable to search by keywords in photos I have organized my photos by using (around 160) keywords to thousands of photos. The filter options no longer offers a keyword search. It says to add keywords to 'quick group' in order to filter, but it won't let me add all of my keywords to the list. Any suggestions? (using Sequioa 15.6.)

embedding descriptions in photos I scanned some old photos and labeled each in the "Title" area, put in a location, and sometimes a caption. But these descriptions are not evident when I mail them to others. How do I embed the descriptions in photos?

Select the photo you want to add keywords to and type ⌘+k to bring up the Keywords manager pane. Click on any keyword you want to assign to the photo or create a new keyword to use.

Are you not able to do the above on those photos from your son?
