My Mac is acting like a key is stuck

Some keys are just not working. It is limited to `uijklm` and some numbers 9 etc.

I have tried -

  1. Looking for changes in keyboard shortcuts - restored to defaults
  2. Turned laptop upside down - gave tap on the back to remove dirt stuck under the keys
  3. Tried searching for stuck keys

None of these seem to work.

I have been using accessibility keyboard to type this whole thing and it is super painful. Tried this thread as well - My Mac is acting like a key is stuck - Apple Community

if you suspect you have a keyboard issue:

Mouse Keys 789uiojkl

Mouse Keys feature has been turned on in your >Accessibility Settings.

(It can be turned on/off by hitting the option key 5 times)

if you suspect you have a keyboard issue:

Verify Mouse Keys

>System Settings > Accessibility > Pointer Control and make sure it is turned off

(It can be turned on/off by hitting the option key 5 times)

search "mouse keys"

search "pointer control

Also Accessibility>General> “Shortcuts”
