Apple Mail on macOS/iOS supporting OAuth2 and IMAP

Microsoft have sent an email saying that unless I switch to modern authentication (OAuth2) then I will not be able to access my email from Sept 2024. I currently access my outlook.com email via IMAP to receive and send via my domain via SMTP (a non Microsoft system). Currently Apple Mail allows you to do this but does not give you an option to receive email via IMAP with OAuth2 - you are forced to add a new account and select outlook.com, but this option does not allow you to specify a separate outgoing server. Can Apple update their Mail app to be able to do this please?
