Camera constantly turns off when using FaceTime

Only when using FaceTime, the camera will NOT stay on. There is NO self-image displayed in the FaceTime window when the camera does work for the 3-5 seconds it is on (green light). Do not tell me to update the computer, this cannot happen. There is professional software being used that is not compatible with any of the updates past 12.x-The software does not work beyond 12.x and therefore the OS cannot be updated to 13 or 14. Besides everything after 10.7 looks like some sort of junk Windows or Google is visually punishing its users with.

Camera works fine in every other situation with ALL other software. ScreenTime is NOT being used.
