FIXED,

I had the problem. It occurred when I was trying to zoom text.

This is what I did.

went into Accessibility - Zoom - and turned off “Follow focus”.

My “zoom” showed “off” but my “Follow Focus” was turned on. Once I turned that off, the focus magnifier circle has not returned. must be a program glitch.

Hope this is settled.

It’s only Numbers which is why it is green. It’s happened to me on iPad and a friend on iPhone. Only way to make it go away so far is close Numbers and reopen. Very annoying, seems impossible to move. Happened to me while I was trying to move the cursor to a specific location with the text of a cell.

Same here and it’s mighty annoying.

just one thing … I note on this forum that the screen dumps with the oval ring are all spreadsheets and in my case the problem began while using Numbers.

Is this peculiar to Numbers or are other programs involved?

After reading this suggestion I was able to force the appearance of the green-edged lens. I made an edit and lifted off and the lens disappeared. If that was it, I’d say problem solved.

However, when I tried again the lens and unexpected scrolling down occurred, the green edit bar was planted and the lens would not go away. When I tried to scroll back to the edit cell and complete the edit, I was treated to a second lens appearance.

My lucky Numbers day.

The lens persists to the home files list screen. At that point, the only way to banish the lens is to Force Quit Numbers. Which has been my standard procedure with this.

I’ll say it’s a Numbers feature, but a flawed implementation.

In the System Accessibility Settings, Zoom is off, Follow Focus is off.

I’ve seen this for a few months, through a couple iOS updates. Numbers 14.3 and the version before this.

** NOT FIXED **

The circle repaired today I checked the follow focus is still turned off. This feature must be handled by the individual program and not part of Accessibility. My Numbers version is 14.2. I checked, and it’s the latest version..

Here is a mini tutorial:

After you write something and then want to edit it, just hold your finger down on where you want the cursor to be. The magnifier (little green circle) will appear. As you move your finger, the magnifier will move over the text and show you where the cursor is. When you get to the part, you want to start editing, simply lift your finger and the magnifier goes away and leaves the cursor. from there you can change your word add some more text or delete text. try it on one of your posts. It takes a little getting used to but after you’ve mastered it, it’s really quite easy.

Happy this worked for you, but all my Zoom & Follow Focus stuff was in the off position. I still toggled them on/off but to no avail. I also turned off ‘hover text’ and anything else in accessibility I didn’t understand/use. All to no avail. Frustrating.
