So if I watch a video on my iPad I can hear it, but when I’m on FaceTime the person on the other line can only hear my background and my voice is really muffled. Also when I’m trying to record a video of myself to testing it sounds muffled until I scream, I already tried cleaning the speakers but I don’t know if it’s clean enough because the issue is still happening. Please try to respond quickly! Thank you so much.

Cleaning the speaker ports will not have any effect on your microphone as it's located on the other end of your iPad. Not sure which iPad you have but the microphone is either on top of your camera or on the back of your iPad for older versions. On the latest iPads, they've added another microphone on the left side of the tablet.
If it's muffled, either your hand is covering the opening; there be may foreign debris in the opening; or worse, the microphone itself may be faulty.
Try making an audio recording without holding the tablet, sitting on in portrait orientation, and again in landscape mode. If it's still muffled, then inspect the opening either on top or the top back of the tablet, it's a pin-sized hole.
