Creating an account for a 14 year old child

Hi. I am having trouble setting up an account for my child. They will soon be 14. I started to set up a child's account, however the dates will not allow me to select the required year, restricting me to 13 years. Other posts I read suggested a normal account and put parental controls though the Family settings. However I get an error that the account can not be set up because "do not meet the minimum age requirement". How do you set up a childs account for this age group?

If the child will "soon be 14", that means they are still 13. You can only set up an account for a 13-year-old. Your options are to set up the account now for the 13-year-old they are now and make modifications when they are actually 14. Or "lie" about their birthdate while setting up the account. Or, if it's only a matter of days, wait.
