External keyboard keys stop working randomly until the keyboard is reconnected

Hey, I got an odd behavior on macOS using a HyperX keyboard.

Once in a while when I press and release any key (like "A", for example), it remains pressed for the OS, then pressing that key again has no effect. I noticed that using Karabiner Event Viewer but it also happens without it.

I didn't find any pattern that makes the problem happen but it's always fixed by disconnecting the keyboard (which finally triggers the "key up" event) and reconnecting it.

Hi, PRP!

The weird detail is that this very same keyboard works fine on all other operating systems and this makes it look like there's a faulty behavior on macOS.

It's my third Mac device (I previously owned a Mac mini, MacBook Air M1, and now a MacBook Pro M2) and all of them presented this same behavior.

In any case, this is an off-topic comment that doesn't relate to the solution (if there is one).

I was hoping there'd be a way to make macOS not ignore multiple "key down" events even if a key is already pressed.

The only common denominator across the previous and current Apple Computers

Drum roll - i the Keyboard " HyperX keyboard. "

Just for an experiment

Use any simple USB Keyboard

Does the same issue present

Using the Magic 2 Apple Keyboard via Bluetooth connection or cabling via the Lighting to USB-C cable

It works equally fine in either mode

I keep a cheap McAlly usb-a, incase of an an emergency

It too does not exhibit key depressed issues

Apple can fix Operating Systems and Accessories

Apple can't fix Third Party Accessories which HyperX keyboard is.

That falls clearly Out-Side the Domain of Apple.

It belongs solely with the Third Party Accessory Manufacture.

If Third Party Software is required to make this Keyboard Function, that too belongs with the Third Party Software Developer.
