I got a monitor with a USB-C with 90W power output, and the monitor only supports monitor daisy chaining through the powered USB-C port.
Just wondering if it will damage my Mac mini if I connect my Mac mini to the monitor's powered USB-C port.

While it won't damage the Mini, displays with USB-C ports that deliver power can be problematic with a desktop computer as sometimes both can get confused as to how to connect in the early initialization on power up as the display wants to deliver power but the desktop doesn't need it.
There have been several reports here of several displays having such issues. Perhaps the latest and greatest display models may have solved this is issue.
+1 @Woodmeister. To avoid mystery problems, be sure to use Sleep settings exactly as shown here:
Additionally, avoid manual sleeping your Mac. Shut for overnights and long absences and for regular operation, use the Lock Screen settings to switch the display off on timer:
