Help with iMessage issue after IOS 17.5.1 Update

I updated my iphone to the latest ios version but now I cannot send/receive texts to anyone of my contacts that have an Android nor can I receive third party texts. For example, I can’t receive texts for my 2-step verification. I can still send/receive texts from other iPhones, but that’s it. Is there a fix for this?
