I opened a Word document from iCloud Drive in Pages. The "find" function in Pages
won't go to the word I am searching for. The doc is 65,000 words and I REALLY need this to work.

Once you open a Word document in Pages, it is translated into a new Pages document and is no longer an active, or open Word document. The new Pages document may be on your local drive at this point.
The Find tool will find anything in that Pages document with an accurate search entry. With the Find tool open, click the gear icon on it and ensure that Whole Words is selected, and if necessary, Match Case too. Then retry your Find.
