Is there a way to clear an app’s data and cache on my iPhone XS?

Is there a way to clear an app’s data and cache? Just like in android where we have “Clear App Data” and “Clear Cache”.

It will depend on where the app is storing the data. Here are 3 locations that apps can store data:

  • iPhone Storage - Using Settings > General > iPhone Storage > [the app] > Delete App, will delete its data. I understand that you want to keep the app, but you will need to delete the app to remove its data from the phone. The app can be easily downloaded again for free from the App Store.
  • iCloud Storage - Some apps will store the data in iCloud so it will be available on all devices. To delete the data if it is stored in iCloud, then go to Settings > [name on top] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage, select the app, and tap the "Delete" option If the app is not listed, then it is not storing data in iCloud.
  • Developer Servers - Apps can also store data on their own servers. For example, Facebook stores your information on their servers and you must delete the data by using the methods they provide. Deleting the app on your device will not delete data if it is stored on the App Developers servers.
