How can I connect my Apple Watch Ultra 2 to my iPad?

I don't believe you can directly connect an apple watch to your iPad, but you can control your iPad from your Apple Watch by going to Accessibility on your watch > Control Nearby Devices. You can however connect your Watch to your iPhone using the Apple Watch app, but not the iPad.

You can only pair the Apple Watch to your iPhone. However, if your iPad has been set up with the same Apple ID, you can see the same data in the Health App on the iPad, as in the Health App on your paired iPhone.

An iPhone is needed to pair, since the Apple Watch needs the iPhone’s data for performance, and it wouldn’t be good to pair it to your iPad even if you could. Anyway, you can only pair the watch to an iPhone but all iCloud data from the watch (e.g. health data) can be accessed from the iPad.
