Only two songs are playing from my running playlist on my Apple Watch

I have an iPhone 15Pro an Apple Watch and AirPods. Today I decided not to take my phone on run but use watch for music. Only 2 songs from my running playlist played then the rest of the songs were just skipped thru (couldn’t hit play button to get any to play). I tried pod casts and an alert came up that I had to turn off Airplane Mode but when I did, nothing changed. How do I get my watch to play music and other apps without having my phone on me (and all are updated). Thanks

Did you make sure that the music and podcasts have been synced to the Apple Watch before?

Add music to Apple Watch - Apple Support

Do you have a cellular watch? If the music or other content has not been downloaded onto the watch, you would have to stream the content, using a cellular data connection.
