My credit card was compromised one day ago. I am trying to remove it from my "method of payment" on iPhone, but in vain. Prompting "....there is an active subscription....." My intention that sooner I receive the new one everything will fall in... Help!

You can redeem an Apple Gift Card and use it as a payment method. After that you can remove the current payment method and add a new one.

Do you have another credit card you can use for your Apple ID? If no, you'll have to wait until you get your replacement card to be issued before you can remove the card on file. I wouldn't be very concerned about the card you have on file. Assuming you cancelled it, it can't be used.
