iOS Maps app disk space usage

I am having issues with disk space usage for Apple iOS Maps, which is constantly growing to be more than 13GB despite rarely or never using it.

Currently, I'm running iOS 17.5.1, so how do I reclaim or reduce the precious disk space usage since uninstalling the application removes the shortcuts and not the large volume of data used?

I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide.
