Does a LINK with a lengthy text (ie, copy of book) take up a lot of space on my Mac if I don't click on the link?

The actual link is a text attribute much like an underline or strike-through. Only the text that the link is applied to will consume space in your Pages document and inherently on your Mac. Clicking the link would open a browser and that will consume RAM and minimal drive storage.
Thanks for your response :)
