I want to select a bunch of timeline clips and make them all the same length, in this case 2 seconds.
I selected those clips, tried to make all of them run 15 seconds total. Should be simple?

So, after a lot of research I came across the simple answer. Perhaps my question wasn't worded properly, but I wanted to select clips in my timeline, and make them ALL two seconds long.
The answer is:
SELECT the clips to create them all the same length.
Then, Control+D (D for duration)
Then, in above the timeline where you see running time type in 2. (notice the period after the 2), then click "return"
Viola, all are the same length.

Combine all the clips into a compound clip Retime the compound to be 15 seconds. See how it looks.
You want each clip to be 2 seconds but the total duration of the clips to be 15 seconds?
If each clip is 2 seconds the total duration has to be an even number.
