Hey guys, I have recently stumbled into a little miss have you, and I have accidentally smashed my late 2013 IMacs display, There is a Whole bunch of stuff I need to get off the computer, I already bought another iMac, but I would still like to use my other one as it was intel core swapped with i9, and is very good on some Gaming task.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You cannot connect to any iMac newer than Mid 2014 because newer models cannot act as displays for another Mac. Dead tech.

if target disc mode doesn't you can get thunderbolt to DisplayPort or HDMI adaptor and hook it up to a monitor or a tv
Try to connect the old Mac with another Mac in Target Disk Mode. You won't be able to see the TDM symbol on your broken Mac but, if it will boot into TDM, you should see it as an external drive on the other Mac. Then you can copy the files you need to wherever.
If you are using Time Machine you don't have to worry about it. You'll have all of your files on the TM drive and can access it from any Mac using the Time Machine menu like this:
Its not even worth attempting, the 2013 is 11 years old and has been obsolete for many years already. Your best bet is to recycle the old girl.
